Lois Marie (Stouffer) Rodeffer, 95 of Hagerstown, MD died March 29, 2024, at The Residence at Creekside, with her beloved and devoted grandson, Jason by her side. Born June 5, 1928, to the late Braydon Ellsworth Stouffer and Hilda Mae (Edwards) Stouffer Norment.
Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul William (Bill) Rodeffer in 2007, and her beloved daughter, Christina Suzanne (Rodeffer) Thatcher in 2021. Lois was also preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne (Stouffer) Yates and her bother Alan Clingan.
Lois was a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a long-time member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. At St. Mark's, she was a member of the Esther Class, the Quilters, the Befrienders, and the Caring Concerns. She was also an Honorary Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Morris Frock Unit 42.
Lois attended Columbia Business College and was employed by the Hagerstown Shoe Company in the payroll department for 4 years and employed by Hesco Inc. for 28 years.
Lois loved to travel, she traveled internationally with her husband and to multiple destinations in the United States and Canada with her husband, daughter, and grandson. She also continued to travel on bus trips with her close friends after the passing of her husband.
Lois also loved the theater and attended all her great, great nieces' dance recitals and ballets at the Maryland Theatre, as well as dinner theaters at the Washington County Play House Dinner Theater.
Lois is survived by her grandson, Jason Thatcher, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Lois loved God, her church, her family, and her friends.
She was truly blessed with a wonderful life and was loved by all.
Lois' family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Right at Home, The Residence at Creekside, and Hospice of Washington County for their loving support and care over the past 4 years.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331
Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Bill McPherson will officiate.
Interment will be private at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
