Lois Rohl Obituary

LOIS MAE ROHL Lois Mae Rohl, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 20, 2025, in Lupton, MI. She was born on June 4, 1944, in Selkirk, MI, to Budd and Amy (Pelton) Stotler.  Lois exemplified a life dedicated to serving others, having worked as a nurse's aide for many years and committing herself to volunteering for hospice for an inspiring 38 years. Her generous spirit extended to her involvement at the Ogemaw County Fair, where she could be found sharing her love for the community in the antique village. Known for her vibrant personality, Lois always had a hat for every occasion, reflecting her unique style and joy for life. She found pleasure in the simple things, such as watching birds, indulging in word searches and puzzles, and enjoying golf cart rides with her beloved husband, Mervyn. A fond lover of nature, she also cherished her time spent admiring eagles, wolves, and deer. Family gatherings were especially dear to her heart, particularly after outings that included kayaking, where she would share lunches filled with laughter and love. Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Mervyn Rohl; her children, Annette Hawley, Danette Jansen, John (Sarah) Rohl, and Michael (Amy) Rohl; and her cherished grandchildren: Justin (Shannon) Hawley, Jennifer Hawley, Warren (Tera) Hawley, Chris Jansen, David Rohl, Onalee Rohl, Todd (Ariel) White, Tyler Rohl, Ashlynn Schwind, CJ (Rony) Wend, and Megan (Mitchell) Wend. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Lois is also survived by her nephew, Dirk (Norma) Andrews, and a special friend, Delta Partlo. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Alisa Schwind; grandson, Jeffrey Hawley; sister, Luella Andrews; niece, Dana Andrews; nephew, Donald Andrews;  granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Shaw; and son-in-law, Gary Hawley. A memorial visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Mel Killinger will officiate.  Lois Mae Rohl leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those around her.
