Lois Schmidt Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 16, 2025.
Lois A. (née Bach) Schmidt passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on September 18, 1943, to Anthony and Martha (née Tritsch) Bach.

Beloved wife of George Schmidt for 58 years. Loving mother of Deb (Don) Hill, Steve (Tiffany) Schmidt, and Susan (Chaney) Davila. Cherished grandmother of Nathan and Brandon Hill, Tyler (Brittany) Schmidt, Abbey Schmidt, and Aurelia Davila. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Myra Teuschler. Recently, Lois found a cherished friend in her neighbor, Dawn caster.

Lois enjoyed a career at Procter & Gamble, where she worked as an administrator and formed many lifelong friendships. After retiring, she joined the Red Hat Society and looked forward to their monthly outings. In addition to organizing trips to Holmes County and other excursions, she also traveled the world with her fellow Red Hatters-visiting Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and embarking on numerous cruises especially those with Il Divo.

She was an active volunteer with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. At St. Ignatius, Lois served as a Eucharistic minister and attended mass daily. She also helped organize the parish book sale, and was a dedicated member of the Sewing Club where she shared some of her time and talents. She helped make pillowcases for hospitals, hats for individuals fighting cancer, and sewed countless other items to support people in need.

Lois cherished every moment spent with her family, especially during holidays and vacations. She had a gift for organizing unforgettable family trips-whether to Lake Erie or exploring the beauty of national parks, she made every adventure memorable. A passionate bargain hunter, she generously donated many of her finds to Threads of Hope and Matthew 25 Ministries. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.

Visitation will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45247, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Memorial Mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mt. Healthy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Metzcor, Matthew 25 Ministries or Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE)
