Lois Schrantz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tredway Funeral Home - Norwood on Dec. 31, 2025.
Lois Ann Schrantz, 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Lois lived a life that many only hope to live. She spent most of her days volunteering and teaching, training animals, painting, traveling with her sisters, and loving any and all people or animals she met. She lived her life always learning, always teaching, and always trying to put as much good into the world as she could. Throughout her 87 years, she took each day and did something-whether big or small-to change someone's life. She is a soul who will truly be missed, but we are blessed because she was a part of so many people's lives.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Schrantz and Thelma Daley-Schrantz; her sister, Barbara McKewen; and her nephews, Michael McKewen and Curtis Hadley.

Surviving relatives include her sisters:

Janet Schrantz-Broman

Donna Schneider-Harmon

As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, and her very special friend, Cathy

Lois was a great woman. I got to know her over the last few years. I cleaned her house and did odd jobs.

One day I took her to the hospital and one of her former students saw her. The girl came up to Lois and said how Lois had helped to change her life through her teachings. I knew then how special she was. She was also very good with animals I will miss her. Rest in paradise.
