Lois Yvonne Sims, 89, of Marianna, Florida died Thursday, January 15, 2026.
She was born at home in Altha, Florida on January 18, 1936, to the late Luke and Della Sapp. She was married to Wilton Cecil Sims in 1952 and together they had four children. She was a devoted pastor’s wife, always ready to lend a hand. She had the gift of hospitality, by showing how much she cared by showing up with a dish in hand. Lois had a lot of patience, especially evident when she was fishing, content to stay on the water if the fish were biting or not. She was a member of Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church for many years, and cherished any time she was able to attend. Lois loved her family and spending time with them whenever she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Wilton Cecil Sims; parents; daughter, JoAnn Palmer and husband, Donnie; great-grandsons, Blake Sims, and Gabriel Bledsoe; siblings, Ralph Sapp, Marlon Sapp, and Margaret Packer.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Sims (Eldridge), Brenda Fussell (Wayne), David Sims (Patty); grandchildren, Cecil Miles (Shannon), Dewayne Sims, James Sims (Miranda), Tanya McKenzie (Kip), Jonathan Fussell (Amanda), Karen Pons (Joey), Kerry Gay (William), David Sims, II.; 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Sophia, Starla, Andrew, Sofia, Gauge, Trinity, Destiny, Edin, M. J. Miles (Tavares); siblings, Bonnie Brown (Tony), Doris Mayhan (Myron), Doyle Sapp (Cindy).
