Lois Thacker Smith, 81, of Lunenburg County, Va. went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2025. She was one of 14 children, and the last living, of Dudley Beverly Thacker and Esther Hurst Thacker. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Everette G. Smith; their children, Darrell E. Smith (Tammy) of Amelia, Darlene S. Elmore (Stephen) of Lunenburg and Brian L Smith (Janelle) of Midlothian; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Lois grew up in Brunswick County and graduated from Brunswick High School. She was a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed cooking, genealogy, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her great cooking and her warm smile. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Victoria, Va.                                                                                                                     

The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home, 110 E. Fifth Avenue, in Kenbridge on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10AM until start of services at 11AM. Burial to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Victoria Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1419, Victoria, VA 23974
