STARKS, Mrs. Lois L - Age 87, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Welch Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Overseer LeQuin R. Williams Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Starks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday with family present 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mother Lois Lee Starks was born January 21, 1938, in Plantersville, Texas, the daughter of Louis Starks and Leunia Pugh. Mother Starks was a resident of Flint, Michigan since November of 1966 and was a member of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Senior Choir, the Mission and Mothers Board, until her health declined. Lois was a employee of the State of Michigan from 1974 beginning at the Michigan Employment Security Commission and then serving at the Department of Corrections until her retirement in 2000. Mother Starks was an avid Soap Opera viewer. She loved shopping at JC Penny, Sears and Macy's. Mother Lois Lee Starks leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Willie Lou Williams and Wionia (Lorraine) Starks, both of Flint; 8 grandchildren, Roderic Williams, Aurbrey (Mark) Buckley, all of Flint, Chrishonda Starks of Davison, MI, Lakarsha Corthian of Phoenix, AZ, LeQuin Williams of Swartz Creek, MI, Shanique Hopkins, Shanell and Lois Carter, all of Flint; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Louise Jones; god-sons, Dewayne Rogers, Aeron and Arinne Banks; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sister Etta Elaine Haywood, Patricia Parker of Houston, TX, Mother Lillie Thornton of Ypsilanti, MI and Mother Dorothy Thompson of Flint. Mother Starks was preceded in death by her daughter Leunia Bray; granddaughter, Telmar Williams; great-granddaughter, Diamond Harper; great-great-grandson, Malakhi Wade; parents, Louis Starks and Leunia Pugh; and her brothers. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint and the ICU Team, Dr. S. Shouri, Pastor Kevin Thompson and St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Victor E. and Lady Yolonda Sharpe, St. John The Great Cathedral, Divine Revelation Church, Pastor John and Lady Ashley Tolbert and Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Edwin and Alline Anderson, and Elder Demetrius Keaner.
