Lois Hill Thompson, daughter of Hubert and Jessie (Mahan) Hill, was born in Shelburn, IN, in 1934 and passed away peacefully in her daughters' home in Plainfield, IN, 2025. They had one daughter Teri Thompson Walters (Bob-deceased), two grandchildren, Taylor Denyer (Stuart) and Robert Walters (Jordan) and three great grandchildren Evelyn Denyer, Robert Walters, and Adrian Walters. She also has a sister Marjorie Hill Turpen (Jack -deceased) and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was salutatorian of her high school graduating class and continued her education at St. Mary of the Woods. She retired as head accountant at Charles Pfizer of Terre Haute after 32 plus years.

She lived in Shelburn for over 89 years and was known in the community for her civil service. One of the founding members of the Shelburn Old Fashion Days, she served as a coordinator for the festival for over 20 years. She held the honor of 2016 Queen of SOFD.

Applying her love of music, she served as Shelburn United Methodist Church pianist and organist. As church treasurer and chairperson of various committees, she shared her faith with the youth as a teacher and mentor. She was a faithful member of the Hymera Order of Eastern Star.

Her love for gardening, animals, cooking, hospitality, and caring for others was well known, and she was deeply loved by her family and community.
