Lois A. Tidwell, age 91, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 8, 1934, Lois lived a full and faithful life rooted in love and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Dean Tidwell; her son, Roger "Freckles" Tidwell; her sister, Wanda Coker; and her brother, Verlin "Sonny" Cross.
She is survived by her daughters, Dara Blakney and Leslie Tidwell; grandsons, Nick Jackson, Ryan Hamm, Evan Jackson, and William Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Hayley, Liam, Jaedyn, Waelyn, Kaeson, Reece, Maleah, Tyson, and Carson. Her legacy continues through the many lives she touched with her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith.
Lois spent much of her working life serving her community, with positions at the Harriman Hosiery Mill, Wartburg Head Start, and Farm Bureau. In retirement, she found joy in tending her flower beds, shopping, and cheering on her beloved Tennessee Vols.
A devoted member of Mossy Grove Baptist Church, Lois loved her church family and cherished her time spent in worship and fellowship.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 5:00-6:00 pm. at Mossy Grove Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 pm with Bro. Jim Disney officiating.
Lois’s faith, dedication, and love for her family will be remembered always. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Southern Baptist Belize Mission in care of Mossy Grove Baptist Church.
