HOWE – Loma B. Yoder, age 100, of Howe, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
Born on September 9, 1924, in Stroh, Indiana, Loma was the daughter of the late Russell L. and Glova E. (Hutchens) Sink. She devoted her life to caring for her family as a loving homemaker and later retired from Ivers-Lee in Shipshewana after many dedicated years of service.
Loma was a faithful member of Lima United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the United Methodist Women and the River Oaks Homemakers Club. Her life reflected a quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a deep love for her family and community.
Creative and kindhearted, Loma found joy in crocheting and making ceramics - crafts she enjoyed for many years. A special thank-you goes to her dear friend, Linda Johnson, who shared many of those creative hours by her side. Loma also deeply appreciated the kindness and watchful care of her neighbors, who often checked in and lent a helping hand, allowing her to maintain her independence with grace.
She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making them feel loved and supported.
On August 14, 1945, she married the love of her life, Irvin L. Yoder, in LaGrange. They shared 47 beautiful years of marriage until his passing on January 1, 1993.
Loma is survived by her children: Linda Martin of LaGrange, IN; Barbara (Gerald) Kauffman of Shipshewana, IN; Russell Yoder of Sturgis, MI; and William (LeeAnn) Yoder of Prior Lake, MN. She also leaves behind a proud legacy of 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include two sisters, Lavada Grossman of Wolcottville, IN, and Roberta Cripe of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Lee Spreuer; brother, Alonzo Sink; son, Ledge Yoder; daughter-in-law, Vickie Yoder; and a granddaughter, Brittany Wallace.
