Lonadine Morgan Webb

Lonadine Morgan Webb, 92, of Springfield, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, after a long illness. "Lona" passed at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Webb was a lifelong resident of Effingham County.
While in high school Lona won Georgia's 4-H Dress Review and became the first Master 4H-er from Effingham County. She also gained the title of Miss Georgia Teachers College (now G.S.U.) in 1950.
Mrs. Webb was a teacher in the Effingham County school system for several years before becoming a mother to Debbie (Neidlinger) and Dennis Webb.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield and was their Vacation Bible School director for many years. She also founded Lona's Jewelers in Springfield, GA.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James T. Webb, her sister, Loreta "Reta" Weitman, and her parents, Glenn Watson Morgan and Mamie Hinely Morgan.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Webb Neidlinger and Dennis Webb (Morgan); grandchildren, Leah Perkins, Glenn Weston, Lindsay Webb, Nicholas Webb (Holly), Abby Newland (Adam), Quinton Nease (Courtney), and Jamie Tucker (Randall); great-grandchildren, Webb and Weston Perkins, Cooper, Amelia, and William Weston, Brooke Newland, Nolan Webb, Lyla Nease, Kinley and Clay Tucker.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Springfield followed by funeral services at 4 p.m.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to God's Mission House, c/o First Baptist Church of Springfield, 1435 GA Hwy. 119 N., Springfield, GA 31329, a charity that was close to Mrs. Webb's heart.
