With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Long Tony Duong, who left us on October 6, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta.
Born on March 4, 1976 in Saigon, Vietnam, Tony immigrated to Canada with his parents to begin a new chapter filled with hope and opportunity. Tony will be remembered for his infectious smile, generous heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He had a gift for making people feel welcome—whether through his laughter, his warmth, or the countless meals he lovingly cooked and shared with friends and family.
He is survived by his beautiful daughter Emery Duong, who was the light of his life; his brothers Nam and Phong Duong; his loving grandmother; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
A viewing service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service Ltd. (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2A 0T1) on Friday, October 10th, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, October 11th, 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Liem Catholic Church (2412 48 St SE, Calgary, AB T2B 1M4).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Emery's GoFundMe in support of her future, honoring Tony’s enduring love and devotion as a father.
Tony will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his gentle spirit, his laughter, and his love of bringing people together through good food and good company. His legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.
