In Loving Memory of Mary Louise Northrup Duong August 17, 1968 – November 7, 2025
Our beloved Mary Louise Northrup Duong, lovingly known as Mare, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 57.
Mary was born and raised in Hornell, New York, and later made Syracuse her home after moving there in 1987. It was in Syracuse that she met the love of her life, Du, who had immigrated from Vietnam. Their connection was instant and enduring, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family. Mary was warmly embraced by Du's family in Vietnam, and she cherished every visit there-celebrating the culture, deepening bonds, and treasuring every shared moment.
Above all else, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed a chance to show up for them-with love, pride, and unwavering support. From births to birthdays, school events to everyday joys, she found meaning in every milestone. Mary had a gift for making those around her feel seen, valued, and loved.
A talented and compassionate nail technician, Mary brought creativity and care to everything she did. Her clients adored her not only for her beautiful, meticulous work, but also for the kindness, humor, and confidence she radiated.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Du; her children, Dustin (Surita) and Samantha (Desmond); and her cherished grandchildren, Leo, Rockland, and River. She is also survived by her mother, Carol; her sisters, Tamara and Deanna; her brothers, Samuel, John, and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply.
Mary's warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mary, please visit our floral store.
