Long P. Yip

Long P. Yip, 76, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on February 17, 2026.

The son of Quong Sang Yip and Gene Tide Wong, Long was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Tech's College of Engineering and spent over forty years as an aeronautical engineer at the NASA Langley Research Center. He was a lifelong member of the First Chinese Baptist Church, where he served in a variety of leadership roles. Long enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Linda, and they most recently just visited Switzerland. Although a sport he picked up later in life, he was an avid golfer with a recorded hole-in-one. He loved spending time with his family and was a proud father and adoring grandfather. He will be remembered as a loving family man, a generous friend, and a faithful servant of the Lord. His stories, humor and wit will be missed by many.

Long is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; his three children, Donna, Natalie and Eric; and his seven grandchildren, Hudson, Rosie, Noah, Micah, Logan, Chloe and Elise, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home - Kempsville Chapel in Virginia Beach on Friday, February 27 from 5-7:30pm. A funeral service will be held at the Hollomon-Brown Kempsville Chapel on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA.
