It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lonnie Tyrone Christian, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Lonnie passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at the age of 63, in his hometown of Decatur, Georgia. Born on Friday, June 1st, 1962, in Atlanta, Georgia, Lonnie lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. Lonnie was a devoted mechanic, renowned for his expertise and meticulous craftsmanship. He was self-employed and took great pride in his work, earning the respect and trust of his community and clients throughout the years. Lonnie's garage was a place of gathering, where stories and knowledge were shared freely, and where he imparted his love for automobiles to countless others. Lonnie's life was rooted in the communities of Atlanta and Decatur, where he contributed not just through his work, but through his kindness and willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Lonnie is survived by his loving family, including his children, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of extended relatives and cherished friends. His legacy continues in the lives of those he touched and inspired during his journey. A visitation to honor Lonnie's life will be held at Rainbow Park Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing Lonnie are invited to pay their respects. The funeral service celebrating Lonnie's life will take place at Emmanuel Holy Temple in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at 1:00 pm. This service will be a time to reflect on the wonderful memories Lonnie leaves behind. Arrangements for Lonnie have been entrusted to Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory - South Dekalb. The family gives their heartfelt thanks to all who have shown support and compassion during this difficult time. As we say goodbye to Lonnie Tyrone Christian, we carry his memory in our hearts forever, cherishing the love and joy he brought into our lives.
