Lonnie Carl Thomas, Sr., 85, of Quincy, FL, peacefully departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Quincy, FL. A devoted member of Tabernacle Church of Christ Written in Heaven, he was known for his faith, dedication, and strong work ethic. He was employed by Solomon Construction and also used his skills as a mechanic in his spare time.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Tabernacle Church of Christ Written in Heaven in Gretna, FL, with burial to follow at Springfield Cemetery in Gretna, FL. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Annie C. Thomas of Quincy, FL; twelve children: Jeremiah Vickers, Sharon Coleman (both of Quincy, FL), Lonnie Thomas, Jr. (Ft. Pierce, FL), Idella Green (Gretna, FL), Linda Williams (Greensboro, FL), Mark Thomas (Madison, FL), Henry Thomas (Tallahassee, FL), Darrell Thomas (Pensacola, FL), Vauceatris Thomas (Quincy, FL), Leneatris Thomas (Tallahassee, FL), Letheria Rogers (Tallahassee, FL), and Sandra Sweet (Quincy, FL); two sisters: Bernice Sherman and Mary Harris; thirty-four grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
