Lonnie Weatherford, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on December 6, 1943, and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Throughout his life, Lonnie was known not only for his deep love for his family, but also for his kind spirit and generous heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Wanda Weatherford, whose companionship brought him immense joy throughout their marriage. Lonnie's legacy continues through his children: daughter Leah (Mark) Jackson, of Benton, AR and son Craig (Farrah) Weatherford, of Gurdon, AR. . His role as a grandfather was one he cherished dearly, and he is remembered fondly by his granddaughter Emily (Braden) Taylor of Hensley, AR., and grandson Elliott Weatherford. Lonnie also leaves behind his siblings including sister Louise (Tommy) Mehalic and brothers Greg Weatherford and Jeff Weatherford, along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth and generosity.
Lonnie was predeceased by his parents, Hershel and Irene Weatherford, and two brothers, Marshall and Mitchell Weatherford.
A man of many interests, Lonnie found great pleasure in spending time in his garden, where he cultivated not only plants but a nurturing environment for his family. He had a knack for woodworking, crafting special pieces for those he loved, including but not limited to rocking chairs, desks, curio cabinets, benches, shelves, and things made specially for his family. His garden was a testament to his dedication to sharing nature's bounty with family and friends alike.
