Lonnie Gene Wilkerson, 48, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 from heart failure complications.
Lonnie was born to Larry and Linda (Gerig) Wilkerson on June 7, 1976. Lonnie was raised in Gillette and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1995. He attended Casper College for two years.
Lonnie worked at the Lariat Cafe and could often be found there having coffee with friends. Lonnie enjoyed playing Magic cards with his brother and good friends. He liked to play Frisbee disc golf. Lonnie loved his cat, Hallow.
Lonnie never met a stranger. He made friends with everyone he met. He had a kind and generous heart. He lived his life on his terms. Lonnie was a one of a kind character. Lonnie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Lonnie is survived by his parents, sister Toni Merritt and brother Cole (Wendy) Wilkerson. Nephews: Casey (Alexa) Merritt, Andrew Merritt, Connor (Alyssa) Wilkerson and Maddox Wilkerson. Niece: Hailey Wilkerson. Aunts: Pauline (Charlie) Pellman, Linda (John) Schroer, and Diane (Bill) Maki. Uncles: David Gerig, Robert (Renee) Wilkerson, Richard (Peg) Wilkerson and Terry (Janie) Wilkerson, as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Lonnie is preceded in death by his grandparents, nephew Austin Wilkerson and uncles Robert and Michael Gerig.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2024 at 10 am at Gillette Memorial Chapel with reception to follow at the American Legion.
