Lora Leigh Askew Michael

Although Lora is my grand niece, I do not remember meeting her, as my Air Force career kept me away from North Carolina, and not meeting her is obviously a great loss. She obviously was a lovely person inside and out, and I regret not meeting her. I know her mother, Billie Carol , her Grandmother, Natalie Elliott, and knew her Grandfather, Billy Elliott. Her Uncle, Ray Wood also died of pancreatic cancer. It saddens Della and me to view her lovely picture, and realize we missed knowing such a lovely and talented person. We have one thing in common- Fans of the ECU Pirates, as Della and I met at ECU, and were there from 1950 to 1954. We are saddened to see a young and productive person leave us at such an early age. We know somewhat how her family and friends feel, having lost our daughter Wendy to Inflammatory
