Lora "Jane" Mayfield

Lora "Jane" Mayfield, age 83, passed away on April 15, 2024. She was born to Chester and Helen (Coffee) Griffith in Bentonville, AR. She grew up in Jane, MO before moving to Goodman. She was a graduate of Goodman High School. Lora was a lifelong resident of the area and loved her home on the lane.
Jane had a deep love for nature, especially enjoying feeding and watching birds. Her travels to Montana brought her immense joy and wonderful memories. However, her greatest source of happiness and joy was found in raising her children as a single mom, a role she cherished dearly. Jane was proud of her children. She is survived by her loving daughter Sondra Hines and husband Mark, and her son Denny Mayfield and wife Shiela. Lora adored her grandchildren: Riley and Tara Mayfield, Nicole and Joshua Melton, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn Melton, Hayden Mayfield, and Hunter Mayfield. She also leaves behind her sister Peggy Crawford and husband Gary, and niece and nephews Dondi Harmon, Justin Crawford, Steven Griffith, and Michael Griffith. Jane is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gene Griffith.
In memory of Jane, contributions can be made to the Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute, reflecting her caring nature and concern for others.
