Lorayn passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at the age of 94.

Loving mother of Linda (Scott) Steinberg, Ken (Tammi) Malsack, Dan (Barb) Malsack. Grandmother of Tom (Patti), Tim (Amber) and John Bauer; Tim, Tom (Emmy) Steinberg; Chris (Jessie) Willey; Emily and Erin Malsack. Great-grandmother of Ethan, Saylor, Noah, Junior and Victorian Bauer; Lorelai, Raya, Flash and Harrison Steinberg; sister Suzann Killeen, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen (Al), both parents (Fred and Hilda Warfel), sister Marlene Rhoda; half-brothers Jack and James Warfel.

She was born in Milwaukee, WI October 2, 1931. She was good with numbers and worked in Bookkeeping at Milwaukee Public Schools. She married Al on May25, 1953. She was a homemaker.

Christian education was very important to her. She worked to pay for her tuition at Lutheran High School where she graduated in 1949. Her children all graduated from WELS grade schools and high schools. She and Al paid tuition for their grandchildren to attend WELS high schools.

She volunteered at Froedtert Hospital Menomonee Falls for several years and then volunteered at the WELS Bargain Center for 27 years. She was in the Ladies Aid, Choir, and Friends and Fellowship organizations at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Lannon, WI. She regularly attended WELS LWMS meetings and conventions.

Her pastimes included bowling, playing cards (especially Bridge), golfing, Milwaukee Symphony Pops concerts, The Fireside Theatre and camping. She was active in the Menomonee Falls Eirenicon Club.

She and her husband Al traveled the US extensively. Many of those travels were camping, including their honeymoon in Smokey Mountain National Park.

She loved her LORD and was a wonderful example of a Christian servant to others. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM with a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at ST. JOHN'S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20851 Main St. Lannon, WI
