Loreen Strycharz

A. Loreen Strycharz, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She was born November 7, 1943 in Wilmington, DE to the late Wayne J. and Delores A. (Linen) Wilcox.
Loreen graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE for 40 years. She retired as the Director of nursing in 2004. Loreen was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Hockessin, DE. In her free time, Loreen enjoyed crafting, ceramics, reading and caring for her dogs. Loreen will be most remembered for the love she had for her family, especially how she cherished all the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
Loreen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard S. Strycharz of Newark, DE. She is also survived by her daughters Stephanie Stroz (Thomas) of Oak Creek, CO, Christine Jubb (Patrick) of Newark, DE; son Scott Strycharz (Kelly) of Newark, DE; grandchildren Abigail Mellor (Chandler), Bradley Stroz, Ryan Stroz (Maddy), Daniel Stroz, all from Denver, CO; Sean Jubb(Alyssa) of Wilmington, DE, Kieran Jubb, Emily Strycharz, and Carson Strycharz all from Newark, DE. Loreen is also survived by her brother Robert Wilcox, Sr. (Jean) of Elkton, MD, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19707 on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00AM, Interment with be in St. Patrick Cemetery – Ashland.
