Lori Hegarty, of Elgin, died in her sleep Feb. 18, just one week after celebrating her 62nd birthday with family.
Born to Carolye and the late John Weigand in Chicago in 1962, Lori grew up in the city where she met and married her husband of more than 36 years, Jim.
Lori was the loving mother of Erin, Lindsey (partner Greg Burkey) and Jimmy (fiancé Haily Lattimore). Lori is also survived by her twin brother John Weigand (Pat) and brother David Weigand (Marikay Hegarty).
She was an aunt to several nieces and nephews, a trusted neighbor and good friend to many.
As an avid supporter and fan of her kids and nieces and nephews in all of their sports and hobbies, Lori enjoyed taking pictures of important and celebratory moments in others’ lives.
In recent years, Lori and Jim enjoyed traveling to locations across the country, going out on their boat on the Chain O’Lakes and cheering on Chicago sports teams. Loved ones will think of Lori whenever they hear Elvis playing, see Milk Duds candies or spend a cozy night at home catching up on TV shows.
Visitation will be held 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10:00 a.m. with a Service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 Irving Park Rd (at Prospect), Itasca, with burial to follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Make-A-Wish.
