Lorene Elizabeth “T.Y.” Caraway, 91, passed away peacefully and was received into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Tarrant County.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, November 8, at Saginaw Park Baptist Church. The service will be preceded by viewing and visitation from 11 am until 1 pm, and followed by a brief graveside service at Dido Cemetery.
T. Y. was born in Lakeland, Florida, on November 12,1933 and married Robert “Bob” Owen Caraway in 1951. Together they raised two children, Theresa and Bobby. The Caraways relocated to Texas in the 1970s and eventually settled in Haslet where T.Y. enjoyed being outside, doing yardwork and gardening. She was active in her church and also enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, celebrating holidays, and spending time with her family, neighbors and friends.
T.Y. worked in the printing business, and as church secretary, but was most passionate about helping others. As an advocate for providing meaningful training and jobs for people with disabilities, she served on the board for Expanco for many years. She also believed strongly in people’s right to vote and worked as a precinct judge for many elections.
Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Owen Caraway, her son Bobby, and daughter Theresa, she is survived by her older sister, Marian Dowdy, as well as many nieces and nephews, close friends and wonderful neighbors. T.Y. departed this life secure in her Christian faith, knowing she will join her Savior in Paradise.
