Ms. Lorene D. Nunery age 96 of Palm Coast passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her home. Lorene was born on April 3, 1928, in Starke to the late Carl and Mae (Dyal) McKinney and prior to retirement worked in the food services industry in many capacities. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working with her flowers and playing cards with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Michael Nunery of Oak Hill, FL, Donna Nunery of New Smyrna Beach, FL, siblings, Buford McKinney (Blanche) of Starke, Matthew McKinney (Geraldine) of Starke, GW McKinney (Alice) of Starke, Joyce McKinney Ryals (Hubert) Lake City and her grandson, Michael Nunery of Conyers, GA. She is survived by her Children: Victoria Nunery Voges of Port Orange, Charles Nunery (Rebecca) of Palm Coast, Lori Leone Piper (David) of Covington, GA, grandchildren: Michelle Nunery Benton (David) of Monticello GA, Mark Nunery of Monticello, GA, Nicole Nunery (Cody) of New Smyrna Beach, David Piper Jr. of Covington, GA, Brittany Piper Szwec (Mitchell) of Alpharetta, GA, Charles Nunery of Palm Coast, Avril Nunery of Palm Coast, Dan Younes (Gloria) of Kearney, NE, Ally Younes Cook (Josh) of Douglasville, GA. Also left are ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ms. Nunery will be at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 10:00 am. with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery.
