It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorene Pollard, who passed in peace on August 22, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on February 18, 1938, in Opelika, Alabama, she was a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother and sister who touched many lives with her warmth and dedication.
Lorene was a passionate gardener and a meticulous caretaker of her home. She always found joy in tending to her garden, maintaining her lawn, and creating a welcoming environment for her family. Her unwavering love and commitment to her home and loved ones were evident in everything she did. She worked at Capital University as a staff member and held previous positions in retail. Anyone that knew Lorene, would always say she was a hard and dedicated worker.
Lorene is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Lewis Pollard; her grandson, David Pollard Jr.; her parents, Irene Chislom and Collie Chislom; and her siblings.
She is survived by her brother, Karon Chislom; her beloved sons, David (Kimberly) Lamar Pollard and Aaron Louis Pollard, and dearest daughter, Jackie Pollard; and her cherished grandchildren, Erica Rollins, Nicole Pollard, Aaron Pollard, Diychele Pollard, Jeff Pollard, DeJana Pollard and Kierra Branch. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Gus Rollins, Theodore Rollins, Heaven Pollard, Starr Smith, Robert Smith, Gabriel Duarte, Kash Harper, Harmony Harper and Payton Pollard, and a great-great-grandchild, Artist Rollins.
Her legacy of love and care will continue to live on through the lives of those she leaves behind. Lorene will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to her family, and her ability to find beauty and purpose in the simplest of tasks. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at Marlan Gary Funeral in Home on 9/4/2024 where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman she was.
