Lorene Julaine Stuteville, age 93, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away on August 5, 2025, at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan.
Lorene was born on a family farm near Parsons, Kansas, to John Herrman Dringenberg and Iva May (Snyder) Dringenberg. She was an identical twin to her beloved sister, Glorene E. Cannon, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Lorene graduated from Parsons Senior High School and then earned an associate's degree from Labette Community College. She married Donald L. Stuteville on September 7, 1952, in Parsons, Kansas. They were married for 68 years and built a life together filled with love, dedication, and family.
A kind and gentle soul, Lorene devoted her life to caring for others as a homemaker. Her warmth, compassion, and steady presence brought comfort to all who knew her.
Lorene was a longtime member of First Christian Church of Manhattan, Kansas. She was very active in church life, including the Disciples Women's Fellowship Larsons Group, where she served as Chair for several years. She was also a member of the Women's Disciples Cabinet at the church. Beyond her church involvement, Lorene was an active member of the TOPS group for several decades, as well as the Manhattan Welcome Club.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Carlson (Mike) of Broomfield, Colorado; her sons Donald Brian Stuteville (Kelly) of Parker, Colorado, and Robert Vincent Stuteville (Becky) of Parkville, Missouri; and her grandchildren Jessica Carlson, Eric Carlson, Erin Stuteville, Alec Stuteville, and Chomphunut Stuteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Stuteville, her twin sister Glorene Cannon, and her brother Verland Dringenberg.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday August 10, 2025 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday August 11, 2025, at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, with Reverend Laurie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Manhattan, Kansas. Contributions may be sent in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
