In her earlier years, Lorene was either seen helping on the family farm or working at the family's BBQ restaurant. She loved animals and was very active in the Fort Bend County Fair. She earned many awards through various youth organizations, including FFA and multiple rodeo associations.

Lorene loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a caretaker at heart and chose to make caretaking a career. 1st with caring for her dad, Luke, and then the several children she was entrusted with for the love and compassion she was so willing to give and share. No child under Lorene's care ever went without the many hugs and kisses she was so willing to give.
As time passed, Lorene chose to retire from the hugs and kisses of childcare and turn more towards the smiles and stories shared around the coffee table with her friends. Each morning during the week, there was no question to Lorene's whereabouts, because it was a guarantee she was having coffee and breakfast with her circle of friends.
Lorene had several friends and family that loved her dearly. She was a strong lady that knew no boundaries. She gave her heart and love to her grandchildren and her husband was her priority. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
