It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorenz Herrera, who passed away August 14, 2025, at the age of 56.
Lorenz was born on April 24, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A dedicated electrician and a valued member of the Enterprise Electric service team, Lorenz showcased his skills in electrical work throughout his career as well as side work in carpentry and concrete. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from June 1988, until his discharge in October 1995. During which time he was stationed in both Europe and around the United States earning numerous awards and commendations.
Lorenz was known for his generous nature, often lending a helping hand to neighbors and family alike, whether it was assisting with electrical issues, building walls, doing carpentry work or pouring concrete; he was an all-around handyman. He was a beloved figure in the community and was actively involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, embodying the spirit of mentorship and support.
In his personal life, Lorenz had a passion for adventure. He loved snowboarding, volleyball, jujitsu, mountain biking, and motorcycle riding. Family gatherings were a cherished tradition, and he took great pleasure in spending quality time with his loved ones. He was especially proud to be a godfather to Angelina and Grace.
Lorenz was preceded in death by his father Delfin Herrera and nephew Michael Trujillo. He is survived by his mother, Candie Herrera; brother, Ruben Herrera; sister, Viola (Andy) Trujillo; and his nieces and nephew, Marissa Trujillo, Alicia Herrera, Angelina Wolfel, and Anthony Herrera; his great-niece Grace Maduene and great-nephews Luciano Cianchetti, Austin Wolfel, Calogero Cianchetti, Michael Maduene and Lucas Wolfel.Lorenz's legacy will be remembered through the many lives he touched. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Honorary Pallbearers: Andy Trujillo, Anthony Herrera, Paul Padilla, Pat Montoya, Vidal Espinosa, Ryker Witt, Phillip Cruz, Pete Hess.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at French Funerals, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. A rosary will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. both will be at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church followed by a reception at Queen of Heaven Parish Hall. Lorenz will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30pm, after the reception.
