Vera Jean Brady

Vera Jean Brady, 92-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 4, 1934, in Springer, New Mexico to Richard Charles Gaylord and Huldah Garnet (Leaming) Gaylord. Vera was a graduate of Springer High School. On December 22, 1951, she married the love of her life, Richard Joseph Brady in Springer, he preceded her in death on May 26, 1967. Vera losing her husband at an early age moved to New Mexico to be near her family and raise her children. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, ceramics, painting, and reading books. Vera was a member of the Catholic faith. She had moved to this area about fifteen years ago from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Joseph Brady in May of 1967; siblings, Alfred Charles Gaylord in 1998, Rosemary (Gaylord) Comyford in 2022, Dorothy Lucille "Dot" (Gaylord) White in 2024, and her sister Olive.

The family includes her children Michael J. Brady and wife Linda, Patricia Lynn Chavez and husband Ric, Linda Marie Sanchez and husband Isaac; grandchildren, Megan, Matt, Laura, Sondra, step grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Rebecca, Cheri, Eric; great grandchildren, Maren, Tatiana, Cooper, Adalyn, and Walker; numerous other relatives and friends.
