Lorenzo Woodberry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Golden Gate Mortuary on Oct. 17, 2025.
Lorenzo "Woody" Woodberry, the fourth of four children was born to William and Augusta Woodberry on August 10, 1949, in Marshall, Texas.
He received his education in the public schools in Marshall; and, in the early 1960's he relocated to Borger, Texas. Upon moving to Borger, he attended Borger High School, played football and graduated from Borger High. He went on to attend Frank Phillips College, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
Following graduation from Frank Phillips College, in 1971, he went to work for Mason & Hanger-Silas Mason (Pantex Plant). He began his employment with Pantex as a yardman and worked his way up to Management Trainee in Quality. After forty-nine (49) plus years of employment with Pantex, he retired in 2020 when he began to have infirmities of health.
Woody was a long-standing, loyal and faithful member of Johnson Chapel CME Church; and, even as his health faded, he was still committed. He was also a member of the Masonic Markwell Lodge #415; and a member of the Ozark Shrine Temple of Texas.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. There was no other team greater than the Dallas Cowboys in Woody's eyes. He and Betty never missed a Thanksgiving game at Cowboy Stadium. He loved watching Westerns; and he would sit in his chair and wouldn't move until those re-runs go off. Woody was a quite person with a big heart who loved his family.
Woody is preceded in death by his parents, William and Augusta Woodberry; a daughter, Susan Woodberry-Route; a sister, Willia P. Woodberry-Rodgers; two brothers, Glenn and Willie Woodberry; and, a stepfather, Jesse Crockett.
He leaves to cherish his memories: beloved soulmate, Betty Hood-Woodberry; brother, Jesse Crockett (Ronda Brewer); long-time friend, Johnny Turner, two nephews, cousins, friends and others dear to his heart, and his best friend Little "D" Dallas.
