She was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Fostoria, Ohio, to George and Irene Keifer. She resided in Saginaw until 2005.
Loretta was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Kneebone (Germany, 1945), father to her eldest son, Thomas (Patricia) Gardyko of Negaunee; and her second husband, Edward Gardyko (2005), father to her son, Michael (Lori) Gardyko of Traverse City.
She is also survived by her sisters, Winifred Ellinwood of Texas and Blondina Sager of Ohio; her brother, Harold "Barney" (Lucille) Keifer of California; grandsons, Robert (Cheri), Jeffrey, Erin, Kiel, Matthew and Michael, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her dear friend, Al Ritchie; and the wonderful staff and residents of Bay Ridge Assisted Living.
Loretta was a member of Saginaw St. Thomas Aquinas Parish since 1958. She served as practice nurse to Drs. Lassignal, Burnett, Northway and Murphy during her healthcare career.
She will always be remembered for her kind manner, positive attitude, and beautiful smile.
A private family service and internment will be conducted in Traverse City May 16th.
