Loretta Heiser Obituary
Loretta was born on August 20. 1926. She was the third child of John and Anna (Sroda) Guzicki. She grew up in the Polish District on the West side of South Bend.
On August 22, 1948, she eloped with Lloyd "Arnie" Heiser. They shared 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
Loretta met Arnie through a mutual friend while she worked at the South Bend Bait Company. Living with her parents and not having a vehicle, the back of Arnie's Cushman scooter became Loretta's main mode of getting to and from work and "the wheels" for their dating before they married.
Loretta loved to fish, cook, bake, plant flowers, walk with Arnie, spend time around the pond and care for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Beverly (Leonard) Copeland of Vilonia, Arkansas. Les (Joan) Heiser of South Bend, and Glen (Cheryl) Heiser of South Bend. 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Heiser, her parents, and her siblings; Irene Weil, Leo Guzicki, George Guzicki and Joan Dudzinski.
Visitation for Loretta will be held from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Monday January 6, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions in Loretta's name may be made to Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami R., South Bend IN 46614.
