Loretta Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Dec. 18, 2025.
Loretta Jackson, born on August 11, 1937, to Florence King, grew up in Chicago alongside her beloved younger sister, Lilian King. In the vibrant atmosphere of the 1950s and 60s, Loretta worked at the Parkway Ballroom, where she cherished her early adult years and welcomed her daughter, Linda.
In 1962, she married Eddie Jackson, and together they welcomed Eddie Jr., Nora Laquita, and Christopher into their lives. Loretta dedicated herself to her work as a Nursing Assistant, serving both in hospitals and through private duty nursing. Her compassion and devotion to caring for others were evident in every aspect of her life.
Loretta graduated from Bible study school and was an active member of Salem Baptist Church, where her faith flourished. A woman of extraordinary strength and wisdom, she generously shared her insights with everyone around her. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cultivated deep, loving relationships with her grandchildren.
Her favorite sayings-"the best is yet to come" and "put all your trust in the Lord"-served as guiding principles. Loretta instilled these values in her children and grandchildren, inspiring them to believe in their potential and to continue striving for the best in life.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Florence; her sister, Lilian; her son, Eddie Jr.; her daughter, Nora Laquita; and her grandsons, Martinez and Boshaun Jackson. Loretta leaves behind her loving daughter, Linda Anderson; her son, Christopher Jackson; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Steven B., Kendall Jackson, Phillip Payne, Christopher Jackson Jr., Rhayne Evans, Zaire, and Messiah Payne.
Loretta's legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
