Loretta Richter

Loretta "Jean" Richter, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on October 17, 2023, Jean worked as a secretary for Central Soya for over 20 years until she retired in 1993. She also worked as a proofreader for the Kendallville newspaper. When not working, she enjoyed the time she spent living in New Smyrna Beach, Florida with her husband. She treasured visits from her beloved family while in Florida. Jean was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group for over 30 years and enjoyed singing in two church choirs. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, Maynard Richter; children, Susan (James) Fox, Margaret "Peg" (David) Murray, Mark (Viviana) Richter, James "Jim" (Janet) Richter, Lisa (Gary) Wilson, and Linda (John) Rezendes; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Gregory (Debra) Richter and infant son, William Richter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to Elara Caring Hospice and Chateau Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Jean's name.
