Loretta L. Wickum, 88, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, June 15, 2024, in her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
The former Loretta Lee Hoeg was born April 6, 1936, in Moline, the daughter of Norman and Ruth (Himioben) Hoeg, Sr. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1955 and went on to marry the love of her life, Richard Wickum, on August 27, 1955, in Moline. He died September 13, 2015.
She worked as an office manager for Dr. Soti’s office for many years, retiring around 1993. She was active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, serving on the decorating team in years past. She enjoyed being outdoors and doing yardwork. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Lori, especially her beloved great-grandchildren.
Lori is survived by her daughter, Linda Lake of Rock Island; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Josh) Stone-Hensley of Moline, Amy (David) Johnson of Moline, and Courtney Lake of Rock Island; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Austin) Stone, E (Nick) Stone, Alya Lake, Emmy Johnson, Abby Hensley and Lucas Hensley; a brother-in-law, Fred Blake of Moline; a special cousin, Marilyn Linney; special niece and nephew, Diane and Glen Jeffrey; and special neighbors, Fern and Ron Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Wickum; her daughter, Cindy Stone; and siblings, Jeanette Blake and Norman Hoeg, Jr.
