Lori Lynn Boelman was born on December 8, 1951 to Ecko Sr. and Ruth (Johnson) Boelman at the Rock Rapids Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was raised first in Ellsworth, Minnesota and then to Lismore, Minnesota. The family then moved to Hardwick, Minnesota. As a child, she enjoyed putting together puzzles and reading, especially about John F. Kennedy. Throughout her life, she possessed such a wonderful gift about remembering the details of what she read. She also enjoyed going on vacations. Lori graduated from Luverne High School in Luverne, Minnesota in 1972. She lived at home with her folks and later moved into a group home in Luverne. She delighted in socializing with her housemates and staff. Lori was a proud worker for many years at Rock County Opportunities in Luverne and officially retired in March 2023. Lori appreciated attending community events, watching people, eating, and watching the Hallmark channel. She loved being with her family and spending time with them for holiday events. Lori enjoyed shopping and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Lori will be remembered for being joyful, simply for her life.

On Friday, August 16, 2024, Lori passed away unexpectedly at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 72 years, eight months and eight days.

Lori is lovingly survived by her brothers, Wendell Boelman of Pipestone, Minnesota, and William (Gloria) Boelman of Aberdeen, South Dakota; sister, Beverly Soladay of Oceanview, Delaware; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ecko Sr. and Ruth; her siblings and their spouses, Delmer (Rusty) Boelman, Ecko Boelman, Jr. of Hardwick, Minnesota, and Donna (Dave) Herman, and a brother-in-law, Robert Soladay of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
