Lori Brooks Obituary
She grew up on the family farm south of Haven. She attended all 12 years of her schooling before graduating from Haven High School in 1981 and she later attended Brown Mackie College in Salina.
Lori was a devoted homemaker.
She married Kurtis Brooks on January 8, 1988 at Haven United Methodist Church. That union blessed them with a daughter, Erica. They shared almost 38 years of marriage.
Lori was an active member of the Haven United Methodist Church, serving on many committees. She enjoyed organizing and running the church garage sales.
Anyone who knew Lori remembers her sweet smile and friendly personality.
Lori is survived by her husband, Kurtis Brooks of Haven; daughter, Erica Brooks of Haven; mother, Charlene Heim of Haven; brothers, Brad Heim of Haven, and Brian Heim of Inman; nephews, Ryan Heim of Hutchinson and Tyler (Sadie) Heim of Hurst, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Heim in 2018.
Cremation is planned with memorial services to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Haven United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends following the service. Private inurnment will take place at Laurel Cemetery, Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven United Methodist Church in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.
