Mary Lou Yoder, 80 of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away January 15, 2026, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born December 28, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of David D. and Mabel (Troyer) Jones.
She married Jacob Lee Yoder on December 28, 1966 in Hutchinson. They shared 59 years of marriage. He survives of their home in Hutchinson.
She was a homemaker. Mary Lou loved children and was a babysitter in her younger years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and devoted her life to her family. Mary Lou was a baker and was known for her delicious bread and chocolate cake.
Mary Lou was a member of the Hutchinson Amish Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jacob Lee Yoder; her children, David Ray, of Hutchinson, Waneta Yoder of Haven, Davon (Michell) Yoder of Hutchinson, Joanna (Wayne) Bontrager of Hutchinson, Marietta (Enos) Schrock of Hutchinson, and Carolyn (Ryan) Wood of Derby; siblings, Ruby Jones, KS., Dave (Ruth Ann) Jones, CO., Ken Jones, IN., Paul (Debbie) Jones, IN., Linda (Elva) Brenneman, IL., Kathy (Ron) Oechsle, MO., Anna Jean (Will) Gingerich, OH., Freida Jones, KS., Glendon (Linda) Jones, KS.; twenty grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; and her son-in-law, Daniel Borntrager.
Family will greet friends from 2-4 and 5:30-7:30p.m., with singing and devotions to follow on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Amish Community Building, 5917 W. Mills Ave., Hutchinson, KS. 67501. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Amish Community Building. Burial will follow at the Amish Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mennonite Friendship Communities or Reno County Hospice and sent in care of Ott Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Haven, Kansas 67543.
