Lori A. DeWire

Lori A. DeWire, 67, of Venice, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, while visiting her son and his family in Littleton, Colorado.

Born on March 27, 1958, in Allentown, she grew up in Jim Thorpe and was a daughter of Doris (Armbruster) Searfoss and the late Kenneth Searfoss. Lori married Chuck DeWire and over the course of 46 years, together they built a life rooted in love, faith and family.

A devoted wife and mother, Lori dedicated her life to the care and nurturing of her family to include caregiving to her mother, Doris. She found joy in the simple things - preparing home-cooked meals, baking, worldwide traveling, the beach, boating, crafts, including stained glass, and spending time with those she loved most. Her greatest pride and joy were her husband, children and grandchildren, to whom she gave unconditional love, guidance and strength.

She was known for her kind heart, her gentle spirit and her unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her and an infectious smile that lit up a room.

Lori was the community's 1976 Bicentennial Queen. She graduated from DeSales University and retired from PPL Corp.

She enjoyed her retirement in South Florida. A devoted Christian, she was a regular attendee of Foundation Church in North Port, FL.

Surviving in addition to her husband are son, Ryan (Samantha), a daughter, Danielle (Dan), and a son, Jared (Jess). She was known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, Hunter, Joey, Brennen, Harper, Gabriella, Kayleigh, Guin, Wes and Sylvie. Also surviving are he mother, Doris (Armbruster) Searfoss; brother, Jeff (Sandy) Searfoss; sister, Alison Searfoss; mother-in-law, Millie DeWire; and a large extended family and friends.

Service: Funeral service will be held on Aug. 21 at Farley's Funeral Home, 265 Nokomis Ave. S., Venice, FL. Viewing hours will be 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed immediately by the service. Interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to veterans, first responders and their families. To send a condolence or memory, please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com. Lori left a forever impression on all who knew her. Her light will shine in our hearts always. Her love and laughter will remain with us always.
