Lori Joy Dukat

Lori J. Dukat, 64, of Two Harbors, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

Lori was born March 19, 1960 to Lloyd and Joyce (Hessen) Kersey in Chicago. Her grandparents were early Two Harbors settlers, Nels and Dagny (Soderberg) Hessen. While she was young, Lori’s family lived in various cities around the U.S. until settling in Camillus, New York, where she finished high school, and attended college in Morrisville, New York. On a blind date, bowling with friends in 1980, she met John Dukat and they married two years later. The search for work brought them to Two Harbors in 1993. Here Lori worked in the accounting field for various local businesses, and later worked for Ramsey County and the City of Minneapolis.

Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren.

Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John; children, Jennifer (Nolan) Goplen, Heather (Aaron) Kussatz, and Josh (Jolee) Dukat; grandchildren, Haley, Tyson, Ava, Juliana, Miles, Luca, and Wyatt; and brothers, Greg (Donna) Kersey and Scott (Cindy) Kersey.
