LORI (FOYLE) ESTEY (1959-2025)

Lori Ann (Foyle) Estey passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on December 23, 2025 in Wenatchee, WA. She was born to Hilton Gene "Tad" Foyle and Emogene Carol (Holen) Foyle in Brewster, WA on January 7, 1959.

As a young child, Lori gained the nickname Dodo Bird by her mother in which the name "Dode" stuck with her the rest of her life. Lori attended Brewster schools where she gained lifelong friends and graduated from Brewster High School in 1977. After high school, Lori attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney and left to join the United States Navy briefly where she was honorably discharged.

Lori worked as a bank teller for many years while living in Spokane, and later in Sandpoint, ID. While working at a bank in Spokane, she met John "Jack" Estey, who eagerly traded his favorite ball cap for her phone number. They were married just six months later on August 19, 1989. A few years later, they welcomed their only daughter, Katie Carol Estey.

Lori and Jack were avid campers who traveled widely with their trailer, though Lori's favorite destination was Foggy Dew, especially for the annual family camping trips held there. She also loved to travel, with Hawaii and Quinn's Hot Springs in Montana among her favorite places. Lori was well known for her cooking and generously shared her meals with family, friends, and even Katie's friends. She was especially famous for her split pea soup--made every Christmas for her family--as well as her chocolate delight and homemade chili.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years Jack of Wenatchee, daughter Katie Estey of Moxee, step-mother Janet Hunter Foyle of Brewster, sister Valerie (Jon) Eliassen of Spokane Valley, brother Bob (Alisia) Foyle of Brewster, nephew Retired Army Lt. Col. Michael (Christy) Eliassen of Spokane Valley, nephew Eric (Brianna) Foyle of Brewster, niece Kristin (Chance) Huey of Brewster, nephew Krys (Nicole) McHugo of Brewster, nephew Nyc (Vanessa) McHugo of Brewster, niece Sydney (Aaron) Stinson of Boise as well as many great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Lori was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tad and Emogene, in-laws, John and Beverly Estey, grandparents, and a niece and nephew, David Foyle and T.C. Foyle Eliassen.

Lori's family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Confluence Health Hospital in Wenatchee for their efforts.

A celebration of life will be announced later this coming spring. In lieu of flowers please donate, in Lori's name, to Okandogs Dog Rescue (contact Tom Short 509-540-3034 EXT 3) or The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (509-662-9577)
