Albert Francis Estey

Albert F. Estey, 79, lifelong resident of Kelly Lake, Minn., died Friday, December 19, 2025, at Aspirus St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn.

He was born May 28, 1946, to William and Elvina (Norris) Estey in White Earth, Minn. Albert was employed with the City of Hibbing as an equipment operator. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family over the years. He was an avid racing fan who only missed two race nights in his entire lifespan. He also really enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Albert had been a member of AA for the past 47 years. This organization and gatherings were an enormous part of his life. He touched the hearts and helped countless individuals overcome addiction through his tireless dedication at the ALANO Club in Hibbing. Albert's family would also like everyone to know that he gave the precious gift of donation with Life Source so others could benefit from the gift of tissue donation.

He is survived by his four children, Michael Estey, Kelly Lake, MN, Kelly (Wendy) Estey, Kelly Lake, MN, Lisa (Jeff) Estey-Swick, Pengilly, MN, Carrie (Tommy) Estey-Dix, Shoreview, MN, siblings, Dennis (Sharon) Estey, Hibbing, Yvonne Estey, Ogema, MN, and Beverly Hills, Waubun, MN, eight grandchildren, Steven (Harley) Estey, Zach (Kendra Tidemann) Wohlers, Skeeter Estey, Samantha Olsen, Mack (Maddi Kubena) Estey, Dillon (Diana Clement) Samsa, Shay Rabbers, and CJ Estey-Dix, 10 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elvina, his brother, William Estey, and brother-in-law, Norman Hills.

Funeral services for Albert will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Dave Aho will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the ALANO CLUB, located at 3725 1st Avenue, Hibbing, MN 55746. This funeral will be livestreamed so look for the link on our website closer to the day of the funeral itself.
