Mrs. Lori Sullivan Horton, 60, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born in Monroe, NC, she was the daughter of Patricia R. Sullivan of Jefferson and the late John Robert Sullivan.
Surviving is her husband Marty Horton, sons, Russell (Jessica) Horton, Richard Horton, a daughter, Rebecca Horton all of Jefferson, SC, her mother listed above, grandchildren, Emmett and Lane Horton, and a sister, Marcy Sullivan Adams (Brian Heemsoth) of Rock Hill, SC.
Lori had the sweetest disposition and a very contagious laugh. She never met a stranger and often became fast friends with those she met. She was passionate about spending time with her family and friends, and watching her sons, daughter, and grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies and TV series.
For over 20 years, she touched the lives of many children as a teacher in Chesterfield County; her last and longest tenure being at Ruby Elementary. One of her years at Ruby, Lori was recognized as the Teacher of the Year. She also shared her love for sports by coaching the Ruby girls’ basketball team, winning the district championship in one of her years. She spent the last several years working at AMI Kids, making a positive impact on the lives of the students and staff.
Lori was a dedicated church member at Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and church planning committee member. She also assisted in planning special occasion events and functions.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church, Jefferson, SC
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church, Jefferson, SC. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, SC.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
