Lori Matras Obituary
LORI T. MATRAS
October 10, 1942 ˜ June 21, 2023
Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Lottie Matras; sister, Marianne (Joe) Barbeauld. Survived by brother, Stanley J (Kathleen) Matras; children, Kathy (Jack) Cantwell, Karyn (Chuck) Hendricks, David (Ania) Putts and Tracy Hook; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Lori will also be missed by her ex-husband, Jerry. They remained friends always.
Lori grew up in Chicago and she and Jerry raised their kids in the suburbs. As they got older, Lori went to nursing school and was the first in her family to get a degree. She loved helping and taking care of people throughout her life. A lifelong learner, her sense of wonder and curiosity kept her young at heart. Lori had a kind, compassionate, generous spirit and will be remembered for her positivity and beautiful smile.

Lori was always an inspiration to me. She lived her life outside of the box with a twinkle in her eye. Her story is noteworthy and fascinating. Even with physical limitations, she kept that spirit. It was a joy to visit her whenever I was traveling to the Pacific Northwest. It was a thrill for me to be in her wedding party so many years ago. I will always remember Lori with love - and a smile. Lori was one of the kindest and sweetest people I know, and I'll be forever honored to have been her friend. That beautiful smile and warm, loving heart - she was one of a kid, and I miss her very much. Sending love and condolences to her family. <3
