To Lori's Family. We would like to express our sympathies on the loss of your loved one. We only met Lori one time and we knew what a wonderful person she was. She was a close friend to our sister, Denise. We felt good knowing that our sister had a "sister" ( Lori ) up there with her when we are down here in Pennsylvania. We have recently experienced a similar loss of our dear friend and know all to well what you are all experiencing. It isn't easy, but knowing Lori will no longer suffer in pain, etc helps with the easing process. Our thoughts and prayers go out to each one of you at this very sad time.

Lori was the best teacher my daughter Carina ever had. I am having a hard time putting into words how much of an impact Lori had on her life. Lori took great pride and pleasure in seeing that our daughter was the best she could be. She would send me messages via text all the time about small accomplishments like: "Carina tasted a blueberry today. She wouldn't eat it, but she licked it! Progress!" She would message me just to let me know how much she loved working with Carina and how my daughter would make her laugh. It felt so good to know that when Carina was in Lori's class that she was in such good hands. I knew when Lori left on medical leave, that it wasn't what Lori wanted because she loved her job so much. We were so fortunate to have had our daughter at Groden during the time that Lori was there. As my daughter transitions in the next year to adult services, we know she is all-the-better prepared for it because of Lori's involvement in her life all these years. Sending our love and condolences to Lori's family, friends, and colleagues at Groden. We will never forget Lori and how she touched our lives. Lori had given Carina one of those gold hair bun holders that looks like a little bird cage to hold her bun in place when she went to the prom. We still have it and I now have it proudly displayed on her bureau in her room so that we always remember her favorite teacher. Not that we need anything material to remember her by, though, because the mark of Lori's influence lives within Carina everyday. <3
