Lori Nicole Wilhelm, who later in life went by the name Harvey, passed away peacefully on the evening of Aug. 2, 2024.
Lori was born Feb. 17, 1998, in Mesa, Ariz., to Jared and Karen Wilhelm. She is a sibling to Michael, Rachel, Jessica and Tara.
She spent her early years in Mesa before moving to Safford, Ariz. Lori graduated from Thatcher High School and later attended Eastern Arizona College where she graduated with an AAS and a level two CAD certificate.
After working in the civil engineering field in Safford, she moved to Phoenix to continue her career in the field.
While living in Safford, Lori lovingly adopted a cat named James and a stray dog named Bear. Lori had an immense love for all animals and in her younger years was known as a wild cat whisperer.
Not only was Lori tenderhearted toward animals, she showed compassion to each person she met. She always watched and looked out for ways she could help those around her, especially the homeless.
Lori was an avid urban explorer who sought out beauty and art all around her. She was a creator of worlds and a dynamic storyteller.
Lori Nicole Wilhelm was a dear friend, an accomplished artist, an avid reader, generous soul, fiercely independent and a courageous warrior.
Visitation will be held at the Vining Funeral Home, 1940 S. 20th Ave., Safford, on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service for family and friends follow immediately.
Interment will take place in a private service on Friday, Aug. 23, in Lakeside, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate towards the funeral expenses, or to a charity that serves the homeless or animals in Lori's name.
