Lorne Neil Odom, 36, of Albany, Georgia, passed away on October 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home, with Brad Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Born in Albany, GA, on December 7, 1987, Lorne was the cherished son of Ron and Deborah Odom. He grew up in Albany and graduated from Monroe High School. Lorne dedicated his career to the steel industry, working as a supervisor in quality control at Schuff Steel and most recently as a welder and fabricator at Yancey Brothers.
He had a profound love for his family, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being, and he considered his friends to be just as important as family. This sense of connection and loyalty defined his relationships and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere wherever he went.
His passion for Ford Mustangs reflected his vibrant spirit—he loved the thrill of racing and the freedom that came with the open road. Those who knew him often saw him working on his beloved Mustangs, pouring his heart into every detail, which perfectly mirrored his passion for life.
Lorne could often be found enjoying a friendly game of pool. Whether it was sharing a laugh with friends or offering support during tough times, he had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Known for his selflessness, Lorne always had a generous heart. He was the type of person who would go out of his way to lend a helping hand, often giving the shirt off his back to someone in need. His deep affection for his friends and family created a legacy of kindness that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lorne is survived by his loving parents, Ron and Deborah Odom of Albany, GA; his siblings, Natalie (Jason) Freeman of Lee County, GA, Dustin (Michele) Odom of Albany, GA, and Ryan Odom (Marlo Williams) of North St. Paul, MN; and his beloved nieces and nephew, Nicole Glausier, Austin Boone Odom, and Adison Freeman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Lorne's memory may make memorial contributions to Albany Humane Society.
