Obituary of Lorraine L. Edwards
Lorraine L. Edwards, age 77, of Lee Center, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2023.
Lorraine was born in Binghamton on November 15, 1946 to the late Norman and Dorothy Wheeler Crampton. On August 9, 1969, she was united in marriage to Arthur Edwards; a blessed union of 51 years until his passing on November 5, 2020. She worked as an LPN at Binghamton General Hospital, then travelled with Art while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, collected receipes, and enjoyed going on crusies. After Art was honorably dischagred, Lorraine continued keeping in touch with numerous militarty friends that they made over the years. She was a member of the DAR and the Lee Center Legion Ladies' Auxilliary.
Lorraine is survived by her sister in law, Kathleen Tewksbury; adoring nieces and nephew, Heather (Michael) Davern, Cynthia Hawver, Kimberly Rainey, and Daniel (Jackie) Tewksbury; and numerous cousins, especially Vera Dykes. She was predeceased by her brother, Herman Crampton; and her yorkies, Pixie, Second, and Penny.
A graveside service will be held onin the spring at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY.
Donations in Lorraine's name may be made to the Rome Humane Society and/or the Disabled American Veterans.
