Lorraine G. Gilbert

Lorraine Geraldine (Perreault) Gilbert Born in Van Buren Maine April 6th 1927. The daughter of Laura (Lajoie) and Alphe Perreault passed away peacefully in the arms of the Lord on March 14 2026. Lorraine moved to Lewiston at a very young age. She was employed at Kresge's, J.C. Penny's, Raytheon Corp., St Joseph's Kindergarten, Bates Mill Lace, Gamache and Lessard, Grant's Bakery, and also as a St Joseph's School as a lunch lady. She also served on St. Anne's Sodality and assisted with St. Joseph's Rectory functions. She learned to make custom drapes and started her own in home business. Lorraine was known for her passion for baking, candy making and Christmas Decorating! She was known as "Mrs. Yum Yum" to many people. She had a natural gift for decorating, making crafts, ceramics, sewing, and quilting.

She married Arthur Gilbert Jr. from Chicopee Ma.on Sept 1st 1952 at Saint Peter and Paul's Basilica. They were married for 62 years before his passing in 2014.. Lorraine and Arthur have 2 daughters Carol Ann and Anne Marie Gilbert (Quinn Royal) all of Lewiston. She was predeceased by her parents, her step father Thomas J. Dube, her brothers Rudolphe , Edgar, Angelo, Clarence Perreault and Edmond and Normand Dube. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and life long friends who loved her so much.

We would like to thank the following Andwell Home Care and Hospice to include the palliative care team, respite guide team and all of the home hospice caregivers that were so kind to our Mother and The Lamp Memory Care and Assisted Living Facility. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 (her 99th Birthday) at 10:00 a.m. in the large chapel of the Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lorraine's loving memory to Andwell Health Partners,15 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, Maine 04240.
